Quarterly Conversations

The FPN Conversations are Zoom-recorded conversations about person-directed care, first with Residents of an Assisted Living Community or a Nursing Home and later (in a second Conversation) with the administrator of that community. The Conversations focus on several of the Artifacts of Culture Change that are most interesting, concerning and felt to be “needed” by these Residents. The Residents choose which of the Artifacts to discuss. These conversations are facilitated by a member of the FPN Steering Committee with other members of the Steering Committee present to contribute as appropriate. In a follow-up conversation session, the administrator of the Assisted Living Community or Nursing Home provides insights from her or his perspective as to how these artifacts are working/could work or might not work (yet) to enhance person-directed care in their community. This is NOT a rebuttal to what the Residents said. It IS another view of what is needed so these artifacts can work effectively for the Residents in these Communities. The Conversations are typically about 45 minutes long and are presented exactly as they were recorded; no editing of content is done.
